Rosie OConnor

Rosie joined our school at the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year as an After School teacher, and has spent time in both the pre-primary and primary programs.  This year, Rosie is provides the warmest, gentlest care for our youngest Montessorians- our infants! She has created a beautiful, cozy, infant community in our carriage house.  She is a graduate of WKU and enjoys reading and traveling and we are so pleased to have her.

Suzan has been with our school since 2009 and has served many roles including classroom assistant and administrator.  Currently, Suzan is completing her A.M.I. birth to three years certification at the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis.  Suzans connection to Montessori has been around for quite a long time. Suzan and husband Paul have three children, Trevor, Izzie and Colin- all of whom attended Montessori schools.  She is a strong advocate of the Montessori philosophy and is a valuable part of our school.

With over 16 years of experience serving at Montessori schools, Jenn is thankful to work with the wonderful families that walk through her doors, each day. Originally from Canada, Jenn has served as Montessori Preschool Assistant at the K-W Montessori School in Waterloo, Ontario, and as a teacher and school supervisor at The Montessori School of Wellington in Guelph, Ontario. Jenn is a graduate of Conestoga College where she specialized in Early Childhood Education.  She received her A.M.I Montessori Primary Diploma from the Foundation for Montessori Education in Toronto in 2000 and her A.M.I. Assistants to Infancy Diploma from the Montessori Institute of San Diego in 2012. Currently she is studying Inclusive Education at the institute in San Diego.

Michelle joined our school at the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.  She has over 8 years experience in a Montessori setting, as well as Montessori training.  She is married with three girls. Her daughters eldest daughters, Gracie and Taylor attend our elementary program and we look forward to welcoming her youngest daughter, Bailey, soon.  She works alongside Jenn in the primary classroom. Michelle enjoys quilting, beach volleyball, archery, and all things outdoors.

Rosanna Garcia
Primary Montessori Assistant

Rosanna is from the Dominican Republic.  There, she obtained an art degree in advertising and graphic design at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo.  Upon graduating, she worked in the field of advertising photography which included six years of touristic television programming with the Telemundo International Network (NY).  Rosanna also worked at the Bellas Artes Art Institute of Santo Domingo as an art teacher for children between four and twelve years of age.  Upon moving to the United States, she worked as Spanish tutor for young soldiers of the army post in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  With her experience in working with children, she opened a preschool in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.  Her hobbies include spending time with her son Daniel who also attends our Primary program, painting, decorating and party planning for her church.  Rosanna also offers after school art classes to our students.

Lana Priest

Upon graduating from Transylvania University, Lana worked as a nanny for six years before starting her family. Lana and her husband, Park, have two daughters, ages 14 and 10. After staying home to raise them, she thoroughly enjoyed getting back to working with children. Both of Lanas  girls attended Montessori, which sparked her interest in the philosophy. Were fortunate to have Miss Lana with us each day.  She looks forward to work each day! Lana has been with our school since 2014.

Inspired by her interest in education and the support of parents in the community, Benedicte completed her A.M.I. Elementary certification from the Hershey Montessori Training Institute in Cleveland, Ohio in June of 2012.  She then joined the Montessori School of Bowling to start the elementary program.  Benedicte endorses the approach and methods of learning developed by Maria Montessori and her perspective on peace education.  Guiding in an environment that upholds freedom with responsibility, Benedicte advocates for the respect and well-being of young learners, so that they may develop the joy of learning, and become knowledgeable, resourceful, peace-seeking citizens.   Benedicte also received a Masters Degree of Education from the University of Virginia and has ten years experience as an educator in the United States and abroad.    Benedicte and her husband, Jeffrey Samuels, have two children; Claire, 19, is a Plum Tree Montessori alumni and a Center College Sophomore; and Zachary,10, currently attends the Montessori Elementary School of Bowling Green.  Together they enjoy the outdoors, traveling around the world, family life and the Arts.

Amy Chandler
After School Supervisor

Amy has been running our extended care program since 2009.  She is from the Bowling Green area and had worked as a homemaker for several years.  She has many interests and hobbies but especially loves spending time with her husband, Dennis and with her grandchildren.  Amy is keenly interested in all things historic.  Amy works in the Primary classroom as an assistant and as our After School Supervisor.  We feel very fortunate to have found such a kind and gentle individual to join our faculty.

Jenniffer has been with our school since August of 2011.  She is a student at WKU working towards a degree in Anthropology and will finish her studies in January of 2016.  She is excited to work with your children again this year.  We are pleased to have Jenniffer as a part of our team.

Randall Olson
Suzuki Violin Teacher

Randy has been with us since 2010.  With 35 years of experience, he is an instructor of viola and violin for the Bowling Green Strings Academy, specializing in private lessons for ages 3 and up.  At our school, Randy offers private violin lessons to interested students.  It is a pleasure to have Randy with us.

Tonya Nicks
Spanish Teacher

Tonya has been with our school since our opening in 2008.  Greeted like a celebrity, Miss Tonya enters our school each Tuesday and Thursday morning and begins her Spanish lesson, delivered in small groups.  She also substitutes in the classroom as needed. Tonya is originally from Jackson, TN, and has a Bachelor degree in Education with Early Childhood Endorsements and Spanish certification. Tonya also has a Masters in Education.
